"MOEHS, S.A. Productos Químicos" is founded by a Spanish Chemical Engineer, concerned about the lack of active pharmaceutical ingredients production in the Spanish market.
Due to the retirement of the founder, MOEHS is taken over by the French Pharmaceutical group Sanofi. MOEHS becomes part of the chemical division of Sanofi -Sanofi Chimie- during 15 years.
Under the frame of a divestment policy of Sanofi, MOEHS is acquired by the American chemical corporation PMC, Inc. This fact gives MOEHS a new perspective on its development process.
In line with the strategic policy focussed on ensuring future growth, MOEHS approves the building of a new synthesis plant.
The construction of the new site begins and, consequently, a new organization is established: Former MOEHS S.A. changes to MOEHS IBÉRICA, S.L. being the holding company of the synthesis sites MOEHS CATALANA S.L. and the new one MOEHS CÁNTABRA, S.L.
The MOEHS group celebrates its 40 years of existence. During this time, MOEHS has kept its own identity, now as a partner of the mother company PMC EUROPE INVESTMENTS.
